I haven’t started 2017 with a clear vision but I have a set of resources that I am using to unfold my path to reach my goals and my best future self.
I’ve had a range of styles of vision boards over the years, last year I had one sheet of paper on a pin board above my computer and on the back of my bathroom door, two places I glanced at everyday. This year I have changed them up a little, I joined the Female Entreprenur Assosiation on a whim last year and though I’m not an ‘entrepreneur’ in any sense at the moment, it’s serving me as a useful tool in motivation, encouragement and as a group of women who are ambitious and aiming big. I don’t have anyone like that in my close circle. Carrie Green who runs FEA has many free videos on Youtube such as this one on vision boards.
This year my vision board is on the wall opposite my bed, I’ve changed mine to instead stick pictures on paper, just pin them straight to the board under the heading ‘What is on this board already is’. I’ve pinned on pictures that align with my main goals in my life areas that I’ve learnt from other useful tools such as Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod and The One Thing by Gary Keller.
This makes my board simple and less cluttered. I added motivational words and just for fun edited the number of likes on say a Facebook page to mine to go with the focus of growing my audience and included my actual picture and stuck it on top of others so it’s actually me accomplishing goals and exploring places. I can see how it could look a little freaky to others but it’s for fun and mostly me who sees it anyway.
What’s on my board 2017 – My vision I AM:
- Studying my Kundalini Level 1 teacher training – Check! It is underway
- Blogging about creativity, art, yoga and life to my audience
- Studying counselling towards my goal of being a creative spiritual counsellor.
- Making small art with a big impact.
- Making and sharing intuitive art.
- Saving money to live independently (once again) and have all the money I need to do what I want to do.
- Singing and teaching mantra music to audiences of people who enjoy Kirtan.
- Visiting the Golden temple.
- Learning to cook Indian food and use the recipes in everyday life.
- Going to Kundalini festivals in the UK and Europe and connecting with others.
Other great additions this year are a mug and box that have a note on them ‘Whatever is in this cup/box already is’ where little pieces of paper say things I want to do/have/accomplish and I read them to myself and visualise them. The box doesn’t have anything in, yet though when I find some special items that align to my vision they will go in there.
I am still using my Bullet Journal to write my to do lists, notes, inspiration and anything else – that was a huge useful tool from 2016. I now also have a A4 Journal entitled ‘My Success Journal’, I had one a few years back to track my accomplishments and I’m trialling it again. I bought myself a Passion planner, mine is a very pretty pink planner that I’m excited to use now!
I remember in 2015 I had a big picture of what the year would look like, looking back it was too rigid and an expectation was set. In 2016 my vision board and vision of the year was more free flowing but needed more direction. This year 2017 having learnt from before, does have a set of goals and wants though I am going to be in the flow more this year of life, to trust my journey.
Trust is also my word for 2017, click here to read more!
