I turned 28 last week! While this isn’t breaking news and I was exploring the concept of letting go of the attachment that is was ‘my birthday day’. It’s as if when you do you can get into a ‘me, me, me’ frame of mind or focus on material things when really it is just another day of the week. It’s about ‘we’ and sharing the day.
This year my weekend off fell on my birthday so I met up with London Sangat and saw some new sights, you will see in the pictures below. It was also Nagar Kirtan that same weekend!
I did a photo a day leading up to my birthday on my Instagram and I was making extra effort to include some fun, creativity and productivity too.
I saw a horror with some comedy and reflective value in it, Happy Death Day. If you liked Groundhog day you will like this, there is a twist.
‘When you re live the same day over and over again you kind of start to see who you really are’.
My birthday, my rules, I’m ending this.

I’ve started journaling again, it’s amazing what you can do in 10 or 15 minutes a day. I’ve found that a great warm up is to read a creative book while sipping my tea for 10 minutes before I start journaling. Jen Morris really breaks down the benefits and ways to try them in your life here.
I taught another yoga class at home, I enjoy it though I really require more space to open the opportunity for others to join and really step into the role of being a teacher. This is a work in progress and a long term commitment but a road I want to go down now I’ve finished training.
I was doing Nabhi Kriya for Prana Apana (a really great kriya for lower triangle and heart) but it was doing no good to be rushing my Sadhana before leaving the house. It’s important to keep up but take care of yourself. I’ve switched to a simple stretch pose + archer pose + Saas Simran (and if it’s a day where I have more time, I’ll do some Bani first).
A friend reminded me of So Purkh, a mantra that was already on my mind. It’s said that reciting So Purkh 11 times a day (you can do the 31 min version from Nirinjan Kaur to do this) for up to three men in your life ‘can attract your soul mate, raise the vibration of the men you are saying it for and help them to live to their full potential and transform your karma around men’ – Spirit Voyage.
I changed my vision board with only two months till the end of the year, I noticed the picture of me teaching yoga to a few people had manifested! I have some travel, creative and learning goals I want to do, including an upcoming solo adventure to – Prague!
